We’re delighted that our ground-breaking Diversity & Accessibility Lead, Yahye Siyad, has been selected to join the prestigious BIMA 100 for 2023 in the category Champions for Change: People.
Run by the British Interactive Media Association (BIMA), the UK’s voice of digital and tech, the BIMA 100 celebrates the 100 people who are shaping the future of the British digital industry. The winners are selected by an independent panel of industry experts, which this year also included our own Client Services Director, Chris Lewis, judging a separate Client Services & Project Management category.
The Champions for Change: People category looks to recognise the people making BIMA’s vision for a ‘diverse, inclusive tech and digital world’ a reality. Champions who use their professional skills to ‘achieve social good’, ‘change industry cultures for the better’ and ‘bring more diverse talent into the industry’. It's a category description that could almost be written with Yahye in mind.
A visually impaired Paralympian, entrepreneur and now published author, Yahye joined Cyber-Duck in 2022 to help further develop and share our existing expertise in inclusive and accessible digital transformation, as well as help shape Cyber-Duck’s own culture to support this work for our clients. Which he has done in spades, delivering inspiring public keynotes, discussion and workshops on inclusion and accessibility both in the UK and overseas, being a frequent expert contributor to The Drum and AdWeek, as well as a critical part of our All I Want For Digital campaign and Web Accessibility Roundtable series. All this on top of advising on a variety of exciting digital transformation client projects. It’s hugely heart-warming to see this range of influential work recognised by BIMA.
Since 2013, twelve of the team from Cyber-Duck have had the honour of being selected for the BIMA 100 and it’s certainly lucky thirteen to have Yahye join them. There’s always more to do with accessibility and inclusion, and we look forward to having Yahye be the champion for that change with us.
