Webinar synopsis

For World Usability Day 2022, we shone a light on the impact of digitalisation on public health services, specifically through the lens of delivering great user experiences and better patient care with healthcare apps.

While early adopters had long been proactively managing and monitoring their health through private healthcare apps, the global pandemic radically accelerated the digitalisation process within national healthcare systems to provide better, more personalised patient care for people of all ages. Think digital vaccine records, virtual consultations, AI-enabled diagnosis and more besides.

The benefits of healthcare apps in general are enormous. Not just for the patient (user), but also for public healthcare providers, many of whom face challenges of underfunding, understaffing and increased patient demand. Whilst many countries have yet to fully embrace digitalisation and healthcare apps, the value is evident – for example, a systematic review of digital health studies found that in more than half (57.1%) of the studies, digital health interventions improved health outcomes for patients, optimised healthcare resources and reduced costs of providing them.

Presented by Cyber-Duck's CEO and Founder Danny Bluestone, this webinar explores the world of national healthcare apps, with an eye on human-centred design and seamless patient experience.
